This company is HORRIFIC my husband has been gone since september on stevens campus trying to find a trainer for 2 weeks. No food no money no transportation once he found a trainer. They promised a $500 pay every week. He only made $300 a week a whole 8 weeks of training. His driver kept stalling him to finish his trainig and stealing hours on his time sheet. My husband had to keep taking out an advance just to pay our bills which led him to being in debt with stevens. Once he got his truck , someone tampered with his truck the first week and stevens sent him to kansas city while they "fixed" it . Its going on the 2nd week now of them fixing his truck and he is still stuck in kansas no food no shelter but the people their are trained to persuade you do be an uber driver to quit your job. Hes homeless right now and i cant go get him because if he quits we will all be homeless with 2children. And by looking at the rest of these comments others have gone through the same thing its sad . I will do anything in my power to get justice over this unprofessional *** company! Its the holidays and my husband is stuck stranded in the middle of nowhere while im a house wife my children are infants . Ive been calling stevens for about a week now NO answer. But when i finally got an answer some man answerer the phone , i asked could i speak with my husbands counslor and he said we dont do that and hung up in my face. I called back and said well what is it that you do? You could have at least transferd me with someone who can help me find my husband and his response was "maam this is an employ only line" i said ok why couldnt you have said that at first instead of hanging up on me? He said "well now you know" then hung up in my face again.

DMs will make it hard for you just bevouse they can, you will never be home on time as you request it, DMs are a big issue and nobody does anything about it not even the drivers they laught about the driver when they're on the phone. They will try to show how much power they have and nobody can't change that

Stevens Transport - Review in Shipping category from Addison, Texas

Went through Steven's Transport School. Training was okay. Once out on my own with the company (Dallas, Tx), I got very sick so I called my counselor. My counselor lost my truck and claimed she couldn't find me. I was stuck in Kansas City with an upper respiratory infection and according to their "physician" once I got back to the home port, high blood pressure. I was given a new counselor and this one turned out to be worse. I was still sick and they had given me high blood pressure medication even though I did not have high blood pressure. I was forced to take the medication and then forced to leave the motel room and get on the road. It was during winter so once I got to Colorado I went on weather shutdown. Apparently the counselor was not happy that I kept going on weather shutdowns. She told me to park my truck when I got to Tucson. I parked my truck and went inside truck stop. When I came out of truck stop my truck was gone. I was stranded in Tucson. I did not know anyone there. I was homeless, slept on the streets and under the overpasses many times. I now suffer from panic attacks/anxiety and depression. I do not trust any trucking company because of what Steven's did to me. They turned a great learning experience into a horrible nightmare.

Stevens driver on highway 84 near Baker OR, Maine license, trailer # 11940, USDOT 079466 Driver sped up as we tried to pass. So got behind. Then he dogged it getting around two trucks. Like a game. Very rude AND dangerous. We are really tired of rude truckers.

Yeah, just got called today by Williams walsh and associates threatening my cdl and dac report .I informed them that I do not have a cdl. Anyway they called me at 4:55 and said they were going to file at 5.

The first time I had heard that I owed stevens anything. When I asked for a written statement they got angry and rnded the call. Really? This is very underhanded tactics to call someone and demand payment.

I thought it was scammers.

Now I see that its real. If they had made a written attempt to collect I would have paid them.

Working for Stevens

I have worked for Stevens for 5 years, the pay is good, but being a team and leasing your truck is the way to go. Some hot shot says he is a DM, but gives a team miles that should go to a trainer, trainee and he needs to be hung by his ears. Mostly we do pretty well if we get those 3000 mile loads. We call DM's we know and try to set up our own loads. You just need to be a on the time driver to receiver and you will do alright. Most of these people ***, but ask them why they are sitting here ***. Some lie they will give you.

Stevens Transport Work Experience Review from Palm Coast, Florida

If you already have a CDL don't go work for Stevens Transport. They'll send you through their BS academy and out with a trainer for 6 to 8 weeks running you as a team.

They say they'll pay you up to $500 per week. After yhey take all their hidden fees out of your check you'll be lucky to have $300. The trainer will Pimp you for the entire 6 to 8 weeks max because he's getting paid for all the miles the truck run.the actual time out with the trainer only takes about 4 to 5 weeks.

They'll have you away from your family for 2 1/2 months. Not to mention that they would receive about $10,000 from the government if you quit and still come after you for the school fees.

Please explain 'they would receive about $10,000 from the government if you quit". Is this part of the H.I.R.E. Act?

Guest

1st of all its not 6-8 weeks.. It's 240 hrs & if u can't drive your hrs it's longer!

It's all up to the student.. 2nd you get paid up too $500 a wk. and all my students take home the $ 500!!! Stevens calculates what the taxes are, then pay the $500 with out taxes!!

3rd you are probably just a little punk kid that crus about every little thing!!

Can't handle it stay home with your mom & work at Mc Donald's

I'm a current driver for Stevens and have been there for a few years now.. And I don't care who like what I say because I will only speak tha truth...

Honestly the company is a joke... Wait I called it a company and its not a company it's a school I've come to find out... You will be told everything you wonna hear so that they can get you to come here.. But once your here all of it changes really quick..

Everyone that works here is a paid liar if they don't or not willing to lie to you they will get rid of them... And I find it funny that you said that this guy/gal must be a kid that stays at home with mommy and daddy and works at McDonald's... Well that's Stevens pay to there drivers... I'm *** come to work here you will be making tha same amount as if you was at home working at McDonald's...

And don't let them trick you into doing a lease cause ther say that you can walk away from it free and clear if it don't work fa you but that again ain't true either they charge you $ 500.00 just for trying it and then your reported to tha credit bureaus on top of tha $ 500.00...

So my advise to anyone planning on coming here please take you time and do your research before coming here or to any other company at that point be cause they all will sell you tha perfect dream to get you in tha door but once they have you there your ***... So please do you research before going to any trucking school/company so you don't end up overworked & underpaid

You say you've been with Stevens Transport for a few years. Then you launch into a rant in which you just say a bunch of negative things about them.

If Stevens is such a bad company, WHY ARE YOU STILL THERE? Are you too lazy to find another job or are you just a malcontent who likes to sit around and bellyache about perceived wrongs? I see individuals like you on my job daily. All they do is gripe, but they take no responsibility for anything.

Meanwhile, the rest of us have to do our jobs AND pick up THEIR slack because they SURE aren't interested in actually WORKING! If you don't like your job, quit!

If you're too lazy or unambitious to get a better job, shut your suck! Trust me, your coworkers are tired of hearing you bellyache.

Stevens Transport Work Experience Review from Mesquite, Texas

I work for Stevens transport in the recruiting department for a year and a half. Allow me to give you the real deal. Don Voight is a straight up ***. Don is not manager material he has no compassion for people or their feelings he has no clue what he's doing in the recruiting department he approves things, makes mistakes, won't own up to it and points the finger at the next person to save himself. Please do not disagree with him because he will retaliate and find some *** reason to fire you. Stevens transport discriminates against females wanting to become truck drivers if you apply for Stevens transport as a female and your resume shows that you've only been doing customer service for the past 10 years they will automatically reject your application due to the fact that you've never done hard labor. Stevens transport is the lowest paying trucking company in the industry it is hard to get experience drivers to come to stevens because they put everybody over the road no matter if you have 50 years of experience. Stevens has private health insurance through some *** third party company called Boone Chapman and they lie and say that it's Aetna. For all you students coming to Stevens your tuition will be $8,000 once a tack on the interest. You will pay back all monied for hotel, food, medication, gladses ect. ect. at $25 a week. So if told they will cover something don't believe them they will take it out of your paycheck. Do not work for Stevens there are better trucking companies out there that will give you great training, great pay, better service better treatment.

Yes, this is true about being female; unless you shave your head to look like a guy. I have 10 plus years doing labour work.At times, 7 days a week for 6 month increments.

And, a week before I was due to take the drive test, they kicked me out of the school , saying "i wasnt a good fit". They indescriminately placed 3 of my male student colleagues on meds to help them. The bugbed ridden, skunk motel with a broken toilet and rude attendants called and complained becausei didnt wake up soon enough when they where rudely pounding on my door at midnight. And, yes being female, they didn't even listen to a word I said.

. .cause I wasn't truck driver material.

Guest

This is a lie. I have worked for 2 training companies, never made a 3000 dollar paycheck with CR England, in 2 1/2 years of driving for them. Have done so with Stevens Transport numerous times.

Guest

Thanks my man I was planning on going not now I done had 2 females beg me not to go an Reading this *** on line is real good looking out world one love .from Shreveport

Guest

Lease program is a scam. Basically, all you're doing is absorbing any accrued losses.

Company gets paid first and regardless. Also, they don't pay you like an O/O but your truck payments are double or triple as much as a dealership would charge.

You will wind up owing them, and any other company out there if your not responsible.

Guest

What do you expect from your trainer? While you are out with him, of course he's going to do whatever he usually does as a driver.

If he likes to stop at casinos or see his girlfriend then so what? You are on his truck.

Did you expect to shower everyday? Hahahaha.obviously you aren't truck driver material.

If he's going to be doing all those things he shouldn't have signed up to be a "trainer".

Stevens Transport Work Experience Review from Newark, New Jersey

Went to stevens several years ago. These people *** and moaning obviously aren't cut out to be real truckdrivers.

I've been at Stevens several years, make good money and drive new equipment.

Now the home time isn't as good as it could be but this is a solid company.

What's good for the goose is not always for the gander. Yeah.

You're making good money true. But to call out others who had problems there, doesn't make you a big shot.

Most of us left the OTR biz and are on to better things. Enjoy yourself, but swallow your infantile criticism.

Steven's transport is not a real trucking job, it's a rip off..you went through the school and have now been there several years, so I ask what other trucking job do you have to compare it with? I left Steven's after one year, now I drive a real truck, not a nutless Steven's truck not to mention a real paycheck with being on the road for months at a time.

Stevens Transport Alliance Leasing Review from Mountain View, California

Let me start by saying I had a great personal experience, pushing to complete my goals. Stevens Transport will destroy your driving career before it really gets started. The will tell you as a company driver you will be paid 28cpm with experience, how cheap is that. You are set up to sign a contract with them for a year of employment. Well being that I lived in another state abd had to get my way back home, the pressure was on. Lets talk about there Allaince Program you will lose it sounds great but its not the numbers they give you are unachiveable. I have many years of being a Independent Contractor I have never seen such a collective rip off Commoany and school. I read all the negative things about Stevens Transport and positive. I should have run the other way. So if you read this run dont look back run.

Stevens transport is a very misleading company.. Please do not attend Stevens Transport training school.. The company doesn't care about the drivers. . The office staff is very uneducated when it comes to the trucking Industry. .I have had the worst experience here @ Stevens. .Stevens Transport does have great equipment but he need to retrain his office staff or hire new staff, Very few in the office know what they are doing (Trucking Industry )..
