LIARS,CHEATS and UNSCRUPULOUS SCAMMERS!!! KEEP AWAY!!! They will COST YOU more than you can imagine!!!Here's the "summary" from STAMPEDE1...
Well, my husband escaped from these thieves, just in time. After finding out the "scoop" on them, he "voluntarily" bailed BEFORE the 2 week cut off where they force you to pay 8000.00 for their bull#@&* school. They,(Shirley-Director@ the Stevens Office), kicked him out of the Hotel at that exact minute, WOULD NOT pay for the trip home, despite the fact that they had said they would, and even claimed that they would pay for the cab trip to the train station, and DID NOT. So, we paid for his train ticket home. BEFORE, yes-BEFORE he even arrived 2 days later, they had already sent a bill for his "lodging" to an attorney for collection. All in all, what this means is that it cost us 1000.00 in bills, another 1000.00 in lost revenue, and 150.00 in phone bills to come away with NOTHING. NOTHING. And that is by getting out before their 2 week "policy". A truly expensive 10 day ***.
Here's the "real" scoop: Stevens does not have any jobs. They are allowed ONLY a few trips because Swift and J.B. Hunt allow it for schooling purposes only. There is no job after school. They put you on the road with an inexperienced driver-someone who is only 1 week ahead of you in school, where you compete with the driver to get your miles in for licensing. It can take 8 MONTHS, yes MONTHS to even approach getting the miles in. They make sure of it. You are SLAVE LABOR. They hold you hostage, pay you only enough to eat, but not enough to leave, and keep you there as long as they possibly can. THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS AND CHEATS BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN IMAGINE... Keep away-get your CDL @ home for only a few bucks. Oh, and by the way, the popular Steven's SWcam line is to say that the "Student" was failing at school and that's why they left-well, just so you know, out of a score on a 1 to 10 scale, my husband's scores were never below an 8. Anyone considering this- DON"T.

Written by stevens22, on 20-09-2009 23:39 stevens is a school, not a good job. stevens brags about running 1450 trucks. it goes through over 2000 students a year. that is alot of people being hired and fired every year. the recruiters sell you on a job. you buy into it and then realize you have been scammed. it is a rip off. a huge gov. corporate welfare scam. good luck to you if you choose to show up. |

The motel attendants made a habit of going into my room despite, the "do not disturb sign" I placed on the door while off to the so called classes, to steal from my room. I lost some dress suites, portable picture printer and even fruits I went to buy from the local grocery stores in other to keep my blood pressure down, walked out of the room. I told the people at the service desk to ask the manager to call me and no response. I then raised my suspision to a fellow student who said the motel will call Steven's and tell them I was a trouble maker and Stevens will let me go. I had travelled to Dallas for a purpose and was not willing to risk it over petty stuff so, I looked past it. The real saga was on the road. My trainer: a drifter, thought he was a drill sergeant in the US marines. His first name is Lee, black male pompus, poor grammar, semi literate. Lee's breath stinks like a toilet just visited by someone with a bad case of bowel movement. By the way, the school training was a joke. While on the road, the trainer let me do most of the driving and logged the miles in for himself. He made u turns without a second thought. I got tired of the trainers ignorance and disregard to our safety and got of the truck. Now they have Genesis Lending Harrassing me for a loan of $6,000.00 after 5 weeks of dealing with those ignorant people. By the way, so called rep (Spannish guy)from Stevens that processes the Genesis Lending school loan package asked me to leave while he was making us sign the paperwork 2 weeks into the programme. because I was trying to ask too many questions. I should have figured it that they were a fraud. If you are planning to deal with Stevens Transport, open your eyes. I wish someone told me b/4 I fell for the scam. Good luck with the mirage. |

Written by New to trucking, on 02-03-2009 18:23 My hubby just went through Stevens, school it only took him three weeks to get his license and I know from my family thats in trucking you have to have so many miles to be a trainer otr, my hubby has been very happy so far and has gotten out of it just what was expected. Also no one tells you that if you pay for school yourself, no one wants to hire you because you have no experience, so it is better to go somewhere like stevens or swift so you get that. |

Now I have worked in this industry for 25 years and know exactly what other companies are about and well Stevens is NOT the greatest but they sure do know how to *** out the wannabes that is for *** sure. |
